“Waiting” Resin Collage Speed Paint Part 2

Hi guys! This is the second and final part to the creation process of my whimsical owl mixed media resin painting, Waiting. In this part I paint over the fist resin layer, adding dimension to the piece. I also glue down my wooden ornaments, and finally pour the final layer of resin over the whole thing to give it a glass-like finish. I let the resin go over the sides too so the pretty wood sides are glossy just like the face of the canvas.

Here’s how it looks hanging on the wall:

“Waiting” Mixed Media Resin SpeedPaint (part 1)

Hi guys! This is the first part of my new resin collage mixed media painting that I’m calling “Waiting”. The little Christmas owl is patiently waiting for Santa to come on Christmas Eve!

The eyes are the bottoms of some mini cupcake liners, and the hanging wooden ornaments I found at Michaels and thought they would be perfect. I am going to encase them between layers of resin for a real dimensional look.

I hope you enjoy, and have a very Merry Christmas this week!
