Pinspiration Monday: Pumpkin Carving!

Hey guys! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians!

So today I was browsing around Pinterest looking for some inspiration as to what I am going to carve out of my pumpkin this Halloween.  I need to buy the pumpkin(s) soon before they’re all gone from the stores, but I like to have an idea of what I want to do first so I can find ones that are the right shape.

Here’s a few cool ideas I’ve found:

This adorable owl is so cute! It would fit right in with my current owl obsession, and the pattern itself doesn't look too difficult. Last year I did a black cat silhoutetted against a full moon, so an owl this year would be fun. You can click the picture to be taken to the website that has more free templates, too!

Holy crap this is cool! I really want to try this out...using a drill to make perfect holes in the pumpkin is an awesome idea.

...and then it hit me. POKEMON. With the brand new games X and Y hitting the shelves just 2 days ago, doing a pokemon pumpkin carving would be perfect for this year. The neighbourhood kids will love it (and I sheepishly will enjoy carving my favourite pokemon...). I couldn't find any printable patterns for this pikachu, but blowing up the standard pokemon images shoudn't be too difficult to make into a carving template....for the more simple/baby pokemon anyway.....

....unless you want to make something as EPIC AS THIS GLORIOUS CARVING. Rapidash in all her glory. Holy crap this is incredible!!!! My carving skills are no where near this good, I'll stick to the cutesy-looking pokemon for myself, but damn this is one awesome pumpkin.

So I found this really cute pikachu template, and I think I'm going to give it a shot! If I can pull this off the neighbourhood kids will love me, lol.

So that’s what I’m thinking for this Hallowe’en…a cute pikachu pumpkin, and maybe one or two smaller pumpkins with circle patterns drilled into them. I’ll post pictures up when they’re carved so you guys can see how they turned out.

So that’s it for now, guys! What are you going to carve for halloween?

Talk to you soon!
