Pinspiration Monday: 5 DIY New Year’s Party Decor Ideas

Hi friends! Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve? This year is almost over!

Today I thought I’d share with you some fun and easy DIY New Year’s party ideas from Pinterest, as Christmas will be here and gone before we know it!  So without further ado, here’s my 5 favourite DIY New Year’s decorations:

The Bubbly

I think the first thing we think of for New Year's is that celebratory glass of champagne at midnight. Adding a touch of glitter makes these flutes look so much more festive, yet they still look elegant and classy (and you can do them in any colour to match your colour theme..my personal pick would be gold!)

The Countdown

Recreate the ball drop at home with this cute tinsel ball! It's just a styrofoam sphere with garland wrapped around it, but looks so festive.

The Party Favours

This is such a cute party favour...write down little "fortunes" and make these "cookies" out of scrapbook paper using any colours and patterns you want.

The Added Touches

These white craft feathers get a glamorous overhaul by dipping them in gold craft paint and then gold glitter (or silver or any colour you want). These would look great in a vase on your appetizer table, or arranged in a starbust formation around a paper circle showing the time of midnight, or even just "2014" and hung on the wall!

And finally, these spikey celestial balls will look awesome on a snack or dinner table, or sitting on your home bar. They're made out of small styrofoam balls, toothpicks, spraypaint and glitter. Cheap, easy, but looks great!

So there you have it, guys.  I hope this post has given inspiration to those of you who are hosting your own New Years party! I’m going to a friend’s party, so I’m looking forward to seeing what she’s done for decorating (she’s into crafty things too).

Have a very fun and safe New Years, and I look forward to sharing ideas and having artsy and crafty fun with all of you in the new year! Till next time, keep creating!
