So this painting is a textured abstract floral painting created using gel mediums and acrylic paint. I think it’s a good next painting to complete after our first project, as this one gets us using fun mediums and playing with texture and colour. It also is a little more involved in the colour mixing area, but I’ll show you exactly how I made my colours.
This painting is great for beginners or anyone else, you can make a fun painting because you want to, regardless of your skill level!

This first video is just an introduction, and shows you all of the materials you need to make your own version.
What you Need:
- Pthalo Blue (Green Shade)
- Unbleached Titanium/Titan Buff
- Ultramarine Blu
- Paynes Gray
- Pyrrole Red
- Quinacridone Red
- Cerulean Blue
- Cadmium Yellow Light
- Burnt Sienna
- Mars Black
- Iridescent Gold and Pearl
- Liquid White (Apple Barrel brand)
- Acrylic Glazing Liquid
- Clear Tar Gel/String Gel
- Light Molding Paste
- Water mister (a body spray bottle works well)
- Jug to hold water
- Soft bristle medium-sized flat brush
- Soft bristle small-sized round brush
- Tapered palette knife
- Canvas size 12″x14″
