Hello friends! Happy New Year! Today’s the first working day of 2016, and I’m jumping right into my plans for the year! But I need your help with something! My first goal for the year is to improve my Studio Notes monthly(ish) newsletter email, as it’s been kind of neglected recently. I haven’t made any new paintings that I will be selling the originals of (except for my Coco painting, so stay tuned for that if you’re interested in her).
Since I’m going to be focusing on creating more painting lessons, ebooks, and courses this year, I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone on the list know about them and share more of the inside progress with those items, along with letting everyone know when I have a new print available on Society 6. I’d also email coupon codes and whatnot for any new courses/ebooks when they’re available so people on my list get a special discount.
So with all that in mind, I thought maybe creating some sort of free beginner’s guide to painting e-course through the email list might be a good idea for anyone new to the list (because chances are if you’re new to the list, you’re probably new to the site, and if you’re new to to site, you probably want to get some art-related tutorials, right?)
So I thought I could write a little free course designed for the beginner to the art world, but that’s where I need your help! Should I have it focus on acrylics, or be more open to a mixed-media topic? I’m thinking about keeping it more general, like an intoduction to making art kind of thing. I could link to various blog posts that people could click on for more information of a certain subject, so in doing that I can keep the overall course more open to various art mediums.
So this course could have a certain number of parts to it, each coming in a new email, maybe once a week. Then when it’s over it just merges in with my current Studio Notes emails of one per month (which my goal for this year is to actually get out one each month!)
So that’s what I’m thinking. Let me know your thoughts, and I can even send out the email course to everyone who’s already subscribed so everyone gets to see it! I think it’ll be a good little welcoming course for the site (and who doesn’t love something for free?)
So that’s my new direction for the Studio Notes emails. I will continue sharing the opportunity to buy original works before I list them for sale, but I will also share insider info on the plans and statuses of my courses and ebooks I want to release this year, along with news of any new prints available, and special coupon codes and sales on art courses and whatnot for subscribers to the list.
So let me know what your thoughts are, and thanks so much for stopping by! Till next time, keep creating!
