FULL LENGTH Beginner Acrylic Painting Lesson: Juicy Pear Still Life

Hi friends! Today I’ve got another FULL LENGTH acrylic painting tutorial! We’ll learn to paint this pear together step by step, and I’ll give some reasoning for the choices I’m making along with a bit of color theory and acrylic painting techniques as we go along.

So grab your brushes and let’s go! Here’s your list of resources:

Download the reference picture by clicking here! (It’s sized to perfectly fit an 8″x8″ canvas, but you can resize it if you need to).

Not sure how to transfer your drawing to your canvas? Check out this video!

  • Cadmium Yellow Light
  • Azo Yellow Medium
  • Naples Yellow
  • Burnt Sienna
  • Raw Umber

  1. You have such great advice! I just started painting with acrylics and I really enjoy it. What kind of round brushes are you using? I’d like to purchase some. If you have a link for Amazon I could buy them there so you get credit. Thanks!

    • Hi Erin, sorry for the delay in my response, I’ve been taking a little break from the blog to look after my new baby boy 🙂 But thanks so much for your comment! The brushes I use in this video are by D’Artisan Shoppe, you can find them on Amazon. If you’d like to use my own link, here’s a link: http://amzn.to/2mGtvKD I appreciate that a lot! I do really enjoy these brushes, I actually have a review of them (from a couple years ago) on here as well: http://www.ashleypicanco.com/dartisan-shoppe-maestro-xv-brush-set-review-and-coupon/ I got the brushes a couple years ago and still use them as my primary painting brushes. So thanks for visiting and for asking for a link. Affiliate links like this are what allow me to keep my content free, so I appreciate that so much! Happy painting!
